The Mountain Tourist

Welcome fellow explorers and tourists:

Let me give ya'll a brief explanation of how the site works and why we even created it.
First on the Home page you saw the billboards and the Bi-plane banner: There are hyperlinks under them. Just click on them and go. It's as simple as that.

The People, Places, and Things on the site are what we have found in our explorations of the Northeast Georgia Mountains or our other travels. We would like to share them with all the many visitors and fellow transplants to the area in a interesting and easy to use format.

Well, here goes, it's February already and my first issue is due, happy birthday to us 02/08... LOL. It's hard to believe that the new year is off and running at a pretty quick pace so far if I do say so myself. We've been transplanted up here in the mountains for three years now and I always use to wonder why the local small town newspapers only published once a week being from the city and use to a daily newspaper each morning to read with my morning coffee. Well, looking for stuff to put here on the tabs I quickly discovered why. Unless I want to just fill it with banner ad's or become a full time sports reporter. This really is heaven on earth and the fact that a whole lot ain't going on is what makes it a great place to live. We spent the first week of the new year in Vegas and had a blast there was stuff going on 24/7, but a week was more then enough. Take me home country roads. Now don't get me wrong there is plenty going on here in the mountains. There is pretty much a festival or something to do every weekend to get out and enjoy the fresh air, meeting your neighbors or a friendly tourist visiting the area and having a good old fashion conversation about the weather or what not.. I have hyperlinks throughout the site that has all that information. But what I am looking to do here is a little different. I want to share those out of the way people, places and things that I find and feel are worth sharing with anyone that might stumble across my site. I'm an avid web surfer and have, dare I say eclectic taste to say the least. Some of the articles are from writers that sent me stuff that I found interesting and I thought you might to. Some aren't articles at all but something I found surfing and it made me smile so I decided to share it. The long and short of it is, I'm having fun and that's why I'm doing it. Nothing more nothing less. I'm positive as each issue comes out the tabs will change often and you should find the content interesting and a fun read if nothing else. I welcome feed back too, be it a good joke you heard or an article or review you might have written about your visit to the area. If your a local business and would like a shout out let me know. I don't have a real format that's set in stone nor do I think I ever will, that's the fun part I think. You're just never really going to know what's behind a tab until you open it. Thanks for visiting and I hope there is something here that made you smile, mumble out loud, say what !! or invoked a thought, cause that's the whole point. Nothing more nothing less.
